Realizing Things With Kendall + Kylie

Hi loves!

Only a few more days left in 2016!!!  Despite all the truly devastating events that occurred around the world this year, 2016 was one of the best years for me.  Graduating from Columbia with my masters was hands down one of the BEST days of my entire life.  I also started working at Vanity Fair (I am still in awe every morning when I walk in!) and moved into a pretty bad ass apartment with one of my best friends.  I set some really big goals and more or less accomplished them all.  One was cultivating a 24/7 habit of practicing gratitude.  Another was to grow AzArAm!  🙂  So, 2016, as happy as I am to say good bye to you, I can’t complain too much.

I’m not someone who makes ‘resolutions’ for New Years Eve and then get lazy halfway through January.  I really believe every single day brings a new opportunity to do what ever it is you want to with your life.  Day, month, and time shouldn’t determine anything.  If you have an idea and surge of adrenaline on a random Thursday night, then why make an excuse and wait for Monday to start it?  The time is NOW and your only limit is yourself.  There are still a few days left in this year.  Why wait for January 1 to start your resolution?  Start it today!  Another approach that might help is to cultivate one small habit every month.  As I continue to grow my business, I’ve realized just how much success truly comes from habits.  And as very smart person Kylie Jenner said at the beginning of 2016, we should all REALIZE THINGS.

Since I am wearing head to toe Kendall + Kylie in this look, I’ve decided to share with you the 3 L’s I realized in 2016 and hope to continue realizing in 2017.

Lames– and leave them behind.  If I learned anything this year, it’s that I really don’t need anyone who doesn’t need me.  Not only that, but I don’t need anyone who shows ANY type of rude, selfish, insecure hostility towards me.  And I have absolutely NO problem cutting off someone who brings negativity into my life.  It’s not even worth replying to irrational people.  It shows how at peace YOU are with yourself, and it’s pretty great, liberating feeling.

Lurks– and embrace them.  Not to be confused with lames, lurks are the haters who watch everyyy thing you do.  They’re the ones who desperately talk about you because they are so insecure with themselves.  Majority of the time, you probably do not have ANY personal relationship with them.  If you’re really lucky they will leave messages for you online, or make subliminal statuses.  Because this is what adults do apparently.  (I just love them so much, I’m doing it now! 😉 )  Learn to love these trolls, and let them continue to motivate you. <3

Lanes– recognize and stay in them.  As much as I’m flattered that others worry about what I’m doing enough to troll me on social media (LOL!), I know what lane I’m driving my Bentley in.  I have no time to worry about others, how fast they’re driving, what interstate they’re on, how much traffic they come across, or if they use their turn signals correctly.  But isn’t it truly amazing that the more you mind your own business, the more others tailgate you?  (I also just realized how much I love this car metaphor!)  What causes people to drive outside of their own lanes?  They have this very unfortunate habit of comparing themselves to others and comparison leads to unnecessary jealousy and that turns to hate.  They don’t even hate you necessarily, but the image they’ve created of themselves.  I’ve said it before, I truly believe jealousy is a waste of energy.  And comparison is even worse.  We ALL have room to win.  We ALL have the same ability to do whatever it is we want.  What determines that, is how you use your time and energy.  Don’t be a lame or a lurk.  Be so good at being you that others aspire to be like you.

BONUS: A Bad Habit– and break it!  Listen, I am the first to admit I can be very stubborn.  I need to become more flexible about my methods, while staying focused on my goals.  I do think I am much more adaptable to situations, but I KNOW I get extra stubborn sometimes when I really try to get my point across.

Now before I sign off on this post, let’s take a quick second to talk about my look here!  I was having a lot of trouble finding new pants for work.  After weeks of hunting, my sister convinced me to go to PacSun with her and try on these trousers.  To be honest, I never thought it would be Kendall and Kylie Jenner who designed (or oversaw and approved a design) my favorite dressy pants for this season.  Plus the chunky sweater, oh my gosh, I can’t get enough of it!  The structure is everything!  I paired it here with my camel coat, and new statement bag.  You can shop all the pieces below!

Wishing you all a wonderful New Years! <3 I meant what I said, there is room for everyone to succeed and feel loved.  Be a good YOU in 2017!

XoXo,
